I went over to Dales house to walk Hayden with Neka as both Dale - TopicsExpress

I went over to Dales house to walk Hayden with Neka as both Dale and Neka were feeling so sad after losing Cali yesterday. Neka remembered walking with Hayden before and she perked right up. He is smitten with her and wanted to walk side by side with her. They trotted down the sidewalk as we walked about the streets of Mooresville. Hayden is quite comfortable walking down sidewalks…He gets his strut on! Barking dogs dont even make him look. He is a confident fellow. Any people walking the street get a careful look over from him. We usually walk in the evening when the heat is cooled off. He has radar eyes and sees people under the street lights from quite a ways away. We went to McDonalds again and got some ice tea. Dale held him and Neka while I got the drinks. He whined and barked a little when I went inside the building. He wants to go where I go…He has heard about the hamburgler from the McDonald commercials! LOL We walked about two miles and after getting back to Dales house we let them loose together. After a long drink , Hayden gave Neka a play bow and his most handsome smile. She struck a play pose but with head held high and then it was on. They bounced and bowed…She stuck his whole head in her mouth when he got to rough, then he would crumple to the ground and give her his Im just a puppy look. She would let him go and then he would bounce and twirl around her and they would play all over the living room! It was nice to see neka smile she had been acting so sad! At least it made her feel better for awhile. Finally they both collapsed on the wooden floor and lay there panting. This was the first time I had let him loose with another dog. I knew Neka would be firm but fair with him. It was nice to see her get happy and him find a playmate! Fun evening , a little uplifting after such a sad day. Cali would be happy to see her pack mate having so much fun! It was fun to watch how Neka would calm Hayden down when he would get too rough. She would turn her face away and quit playing. If he persisted she would roll him to the floor and hold him down. This was pretty funny to watch! He would lay there and not complain. When she would let him up it would slowly build to where she would have to correct him again. He is learning though how to play and how much is enough…A good lesson for this young dog….A good lesson indeed!
