I went to Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife area in the middle of Indiana to see the migration of the Sandhill cranes. It was a miserable wet and cold morning but the sites and the sounds were epic. They found a skeleton of a Sandhill crane that they put at about 5000BC. The Sandhill cranes are exactly the same. They mate for life. Both the male and the female perform three dances: one for landing your mate and the other two dances to perform to keep the romance fresh. The sound of 4000 plus cranes is truly Jurassic park.
