I went to Timor Leste with a lot of questions pertaining the countrys history with mine. While some of those questions were answered, what ive seen, what ive heard, and what i felt raises even far more questions regarding perceptions and feeling between the two countries. Are there still wounds felt by the Timorese people, after their independence from Indonesia? Are there guilts still linger from Indonesia? What would all those soldiers and people who have died felt seeing the two countries now? Ah, such sillly questions, the last one is. But i feel that the people of both Indonesia and Timor Leste had agreed on one thing: to never let the past drag down and hinder the potential benefit of mutual relations in the future.
