I went to bed super early last night, and I woke up super early in the middle of the night. Its a long story. Im OK. At 3:30 a.m. Hawaii Time, my Belkin router had a firmware update. I know the time, because I was awake and online. The router reset itself and should have come right back online. Well, it turns out the update killed every single Belkin router that received it. All of them. Millions. All over the world. If you had your routers automatic updates turned off, youre very lucky. Do not under any circumstances check for updates. I used my Internet browser on my phone to get to Belkin support, but it dropped me a dozen times. I then used my phone to find a support phone number, but it hung up on me every time I tried to get answers. Twitter was evidently ablaze with people reporting this issue. Belkin really messed up bad. There are help pages now devoted to this issue. Belkin released something to help work around the problem, but that didnt work for many people. I solved my problematic Belkin router that would not route me to the Internet by waiting until Target opened at 8 and going and buying a Linksys router. I did not want to spend that money, but it fixed my problem, and I will never buy another Belkin product again. (Yes, you read that correctly. Belkin broke my router at 3:30 a.m., and I had to wait 4.5 hours until 8 a.m. when Target opened to buy a new router. I was offline for 4.5 hours. It was awful. I want a t-shirt that says, I survived when Belkin broke my router.)
