I went to the Gateway conference in South Lake Texas this week. It was a great time and conference. If you dont know about Gateway, it is a mega church. It seats 4,000 and they have 6 services on Sundays just to facilitate all its peeps. It was packed out for the conference, so there were 4,000 people there for the conference, plus all the staff and volunteers that Gateway had for the conference. Long story short is, there were A LOT of people there! I meet a couple from Canada on Monday morning we were there. At one point I had to go and recharge my battery for my phone and we got separated. I looked for them for the next day and a half. Never ran into them again. That can be easily done in the midst of several thousand people. At one point I remembered that they had their Pastor with them also and I had met him briefly the day before. I instantly got a mentally picture of his face in my mind so I would recognize him if I happen to run across him. I had to become conscious of his presence there before I could ever recognize him. Just like with the couple I was looking for, I could not go through the whole church and every person trying to find them by looking at every person and concluding that they were not them, I simply needed to be conscious of the people I as trying to find, so when I did come across them I would recognize them. I feel like as Christians we have been taught to be conscious of everything but Jesus. The biggest thing we are taught to conscious of is sin. We spend a lot of time making people conscious of sin, the culture, etc. I think we believe that if we make people conscious of all the issues then they will be able to navigate life. And they may be able to navigate life better, but they will never become conscious of the source of eternal life! I could have spent my time being conscious of all the face I seen that were not the people I was looking for, but that never helped me find the people I was looking for. The whole time I am conscious of the all the people who where not them, they would have walked right passed me and I not even be aware of it. Jesus cleansed our conscious of sin so we could be aware and alive unto to God! The world and Satan will spend overtime trying to get us to conscious of everything but Jesus. Focusing on the problem is not the solution to our problems, but it the consciousness to the author of the solution is the answer to our problems! #longpost #LOL Hebrews 10:1-4 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
