I went to the auction last night in Covert, and they auctioned off several school awards that had been Zora May Hogmire Lovelands, dated back to around 1906.... I tried to get them ( to try to get them to someone in the family that would appreciate them), but they went too high for me. Made me sad that something was so meaningless to someone to just discard when it could have been donated to the historical society, or had an attempt made to find a family member who would have appreciated having such a keepsake. The young couple that won the certificates had no ties to the family, or desire to find family members..... A piece of Bangor history gone :( Ok, stepping down from my soapbox
