I will admit that when they told me I was being put into Amanda - TopicsExpress

I will admit that when they told me I was being put into Amanda Peters room with the autistic students I was pretty nervous. Then I get there and her and Sue Billig Coombe tell me how this student bites and pinches, this one may hit you, and this one doesnt really talk. That may have made me even more nervous. The second day I was there I got bit and from there on out I have loved pretty much every minute of it! I get to experience daily the amazing progress some of these kids make. Just this week i got to see a student who is non-verbal read a book out loud! Sure it was not crystal clear, but I was it was amazing! Its these things that make me want to be there every day no matter how tired I am. These 5 students have truly changed my life for the better! I heard this somewhere and want to share this: No matter what is wrong with a child they still can show you love, they can live a normal life, and they can truly becoming amazing men and women if they are given that little bit of extra attention they need to learn!
