I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along - TopicsExpress

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. 17 But those who trust in idols, who say to images, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned back in utter shame. Isaiah 42:16-17 Isaiah is such a beautiful piece of God inspired literature. I am always so pleased and excited when the Spirit leads me to a passage that includes direct conversation between God and His children. Here, there is genuine prayer from His people, and then He responds. Oh, does He respond. God leaves no doubt that He is our God almighty. He again confirms His promise to lead from ahead, support from beside and protect from behind, His children in each step they take. He then promises never to forsake us! But the contrast between those who love and trust in the Lord and those who dont is severe. Those who worship idols as their god shall be rebuked in shame. A fate better than deserved yet equally promised from a God who does not break promises. Lord, I pray today that You guide me along the path I know not; that You would make it straight before me. Illuminate those dark areas that give me fear and let Your all revealing light help me distinguish between Your way and those of the evil one. All these things You promise to do for me because of Your love for me. Help me to return that love and live today so as to bring You glory and honor and praise. Dispel from my life idols that tempt, for none can offer what You promise to those who believe. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow... Amen
