I will never forget the time when I was living in NYC when we had a apartment fire in our apartment building and we couldnt get out. My mother, baby sister, myself and the family dog was home when we started smelling smoke. My mom open the front door and the hallway was pitch black with thick smoke. We headed for the fire escape and some moron painter painted and sealed the window shut. So now we trapped. So we started banging on the window. A guy outside saw us climbed up the fire escape which was on the second floor and broke the window. Our apartment was filling up with smoke, man I thought we were going to die. But we made out safe. The second fire we was living in a town house in Florida. My mom was at work. It was me and my baby brother. My other brother was in school. Me and my baby brother was sleep when my dog started barking like crazy at the back door. At this time I smell smoke and can here ppl screaming outside. I got up to look out the back door and the fire had spread from the apartment that was on fire to our apartment. I will never forget the power lines burning. At this time my brother came home and was banging on the front door. I grab my brother and the dog and ran out the house. The fire hydrant was out of service. So by the time a tanker arrived on scene another apartment was burning. As well as ours. Due to fire ,smoke and water damage we lost everything. But Im glad my dog started barking. If she didnt. Dont know what the outcome would have been. Smh!
