I will probably stir up the politically correct folks off the chart, but here goes ... Today is the last Sunday in September. It is designated as Gold Star Family Day as of last year by Proclamation from the President. I wrote the White House last year to inform them there should not be a specific date because it has been the last Sunday in September for a long time. I received a reply confirming all correct Proclamation/Resolution states Gold Star Family Day is the last Sunday in September. As far as I am concerned, every day is to honor the family members and brothers-in-arms who lost someone they cared for in the US Active Duty Armed Forces. There are posts about Spouse Day being in December, but there are other posts that say Spouse Day or Mothers Day is on April 5th....who blank blank cares. Our loved ones are no longer with us. So, lets agree to disagree and honor the lost one and their family and brothers-in-arms every day. If you disagree, and cannot live with agreeing to disagree delete me from your friend list. To all my family of Gold, may you find peace as you walk on this earth to celebrate your loved ones life. Hugs and love ...
