“I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan” Dear Pak Feminists, I have the honor to draw your kind attention to the Oaths of Office with a view to know its harmful or helpful effects of this statement made on oath on the Pak Feminism; “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. I would like to know the stand, publicly declared stand, if any, of the Pak Feminists on this statement. Is it right or wrong for one to question the good faith of a Feminist woman who as Minister takes this oath: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”? The Third Schedule of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 is about the Oaths of Office. (1) OATH for Prime Minister: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (2) OATH for Federal Minister or Minister of State: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (3) OATH for Speaker of National Assembly and Chairman of Senate: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (4) OATH for Deputy Speaker of National Assembly and Deputy Chairman of Senate: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (5) OATH for Member of National Assembly and Member of Senate: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (6) OATH for Governor of Province: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. (7) OATH for Chief Minister or Provincial Minister: “I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan”. --- “Chief Minister or Provincial Minister [Articles [2] 130(5) and 132(2)] (In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.) I, ____________, do solemnly swear that I will bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan: That, as a Chief Minister (or Minister) of the Government of the Province of ____________, I will discharge my duties, and perform my functions, honestly, to the best of my ability, faithfully in accordance with the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the law, and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well- being and prosperity of Pakistan: That I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan: That I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or my official decisions: That I will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan: That, in all circumstances, I will do right to all manner of people, according to law, without fear or favor, affection or ill- will: And that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as Chief Minister (or Minister) except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as Chief Minister (or Minister) or as may be specially permitted by the Chief Minister.
