I will try to make this short. I need everyones input on an issue. My theory is Dont be part of the problem, be the solution. That said, our Wolfpack team has come into a small delema. The City of Bunnell wants to start charging us a rate for use of the fields. We have had use for nothing (its a public park) since 2012. We have also saved the city funds in the past and also found the city funds in grants and other state funds. In other words, we do pay. We also provide Flagler County children a program that they wouldnt be able to afford in other cities. Most of our kids come from, and I hate to use this term but, at risk families. We provide these kids with the mentoring they would otherwise get from some hood or jit on any given street corner. We have firm rules and ALL kids must earn thier keep by community volunteer work, fundraising, keeping good grades and staying out of trouble. Now, I ask you my friends, can we give the city a solution other than charging us astronomical rates for use of a public park? If this does pass, we can pretty much assume that it will destroy this fantastic program we all work very hard to keep up. So, I ask you, what is is like in your area? What do your youth athletes pay a city or county or do you pay at all? We need your help with your logical, unbiased and educated opinions and solutions. Please, this is NOT a bashfest, its is a group of children needing to be part of a solution and not a problem.
