I wish I could easily explain the dynamic at a FIRST Robotics Regional, but I can’t. I think instead I will list some simple observations over the past three days. (1) After checking in at the Hotel the students from our three different schools rearranged the rooming arrangement so that they weren’t segregated by school. (2) 12 hour work days and never a harsh word from one student to another. (3) Getting to hug and congratulate a good friend and Ky FRC coach who had just beat us out of a Regional Championship. (4) Two FRC Robotics team student team captains from our opposing alliance willing to use their 6 minute timeout after our time ran out for a repair during the Championship match.
