I wish I could write this morning with good news, but the reality is that Dad is worse today than ever. Mom and I received a call late last night from Dads nurse requesting we come to his room. The long story short is simply that he had a bad reaction to his pain medication and they had to remove his PCA (pain pump). Unfortunately this isnt the first time this has happened to Dad, thus his hesitancy to push the button without our encouragement. As a result of this, his pain is out of control. They have increased his epidural and are giving him Tylenol. If that doesnt work, they will try some oral pain medication. This is day 3, which on average tends to be the worst. At this time we are requesting no visitors. I am sure you all can understand why. He is exhausted and just the simple task of breathing is difficult, so please try to imagine what carrying on a simple conversation is like. Lets just say we arent getting many words out of him. On behalf of our entire family, thank you for your continued prayers. Its a helpless feeling to watch a loved one suffer. -Susan
