I wish to use this medium to comment on the U-turn the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has made as regards this year’s registration and examination. In The PUNCH of 14th February,2014,the registrar of JAMB was quoted as saying that the body would stop the sale of forms on the 14th March while the site would be shut on the 25th March. But alas, all of a sudden, the date for the closure of the site was changed to March 9. As it is now, hundreds of thousands of potential candidates for this year’s exam may just have to lick their wounds and wait for another opportunity, except the powers that be rescind this most inconsiderate decision and allow more candidates to register for the examination. But why the contradiction in the first place? Our public officials should know they are dealing with human beings and not robots.
