I witnessed the most dedicated medical team and ALS response team - TopicsExpress

I witnessed the most dedicated medical team and ALS response team at Kansas Spine Center....Wichita EMS ....and the Cardiac response team at Wesley Medical Center Friday morning. My father in law went into the Kansas Spine Center for a routine neck surgery Friday morning....while coming out of anesthesia , he Coded, the response team kept up CPR for 35 MINUTES TRYING TO STABILIZE HIM ENOUGH TO TRANSFER HIM TO WESLEY MEDICAL...but his heart didnt want to keep beating......so while the staff worked him....the Wichita EMS stepped in and they worked him on the ambulance, all the way to Wesley, they worked him off the ambulance, through the hospital, they worked him in the elevator, all the way to Cath lab, and while doing chest compressions, the Cardiac doctor performed a heart Cath and removed a large blood clot that was blocking the main artery to his heart. Craig was put on a ventilator and is in CCU . His core temperature was lowered to 91.5°, ( preventing swelling of the brain, after rapid blood flow return) He has been gradually rewarmed and his cardiologist came in this morning and was amazed by his progress and his heart is pumping on its own now. I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD CPR AND NOT GIVING UP ON A PATIENT. CPR WAS PERFORMED ON HIM FOR over an hour and he was SHOCKED A TOTAL OF 11 TIMES. AND NO ONE GAVE UP.......THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS FOR THE CHANCE FAMILY. GOD is a good God and he can perform miracles. With faith all things are possible!
