I woke up in a strange land today. I wore the uniform of a U.S. Soldier once and carried a weapon on foriegn soil so Americans could be free and not have to walk around armed and ready to kill. I use to live in a place where even though the laws were not dealt with even across the board the majority of folks, so I believed, thought they needed to be fair and the same for everyone. I use to live in a land where I and my fellow citizens had rights and the governement was the people. Now I live in a land where the govenment is to feared. I live in a land where I can be arrested and jailed without cause and kept in jail without being charged all in the name of "The Patriot Act." I live in a land of have and have nots. I land where the gap is ever widening and where the many now live at the pleasure of the few. I live in a land where fear reigns and hate is applauded. I live in a land where if you are a young male and black I am suppose to fear you and carry a gun to kill you if the chance arises. I live in a land where just by writing this and posting it I can expect an audit from the IRS. I live in a land that has embraced fear over freedom and hatred over love. I live in a land and pay a government to murder and bomb and kill thousands so special interests of its own may prevail. I live in a land that is hypricritical as it is now that largest human rights violator the world has ever known. I live in a land were not only the almighty dollar is an end in itself it has become god. I live in a land that see bullets and guns as the hightest good and most important right. I live in a land that has said loudly, for many many years now, if you are NOT white, if you are NOT Christian, if you are NOT male, if you are NOT rich, you are just NOT that important. I live in a land that is more violent and has more of its citizens locked up than any other nation in the world. I live in a land where we kill or imprison black males as a dominant rule not exception. I live in a land where voices of good people are no longer heard and an elite, rich, white class owns and rules all. I live in a land that hates and seeks only its own interests. I woke up in a strange place this morning that the God of heaven has forsaken with just and due reason. I live in a land more divided and in social turmoil than at any other time in its history (including the time of the Civil War.) I live in a land that has more wealth, more resources and the means to educate, feed and employ every one of its citizens and the world beyond, but watches its children go to bed hungry, starving, crying and dieing so an elite white ruling class can have houses, (not just one), cars, all the toys of their desires and never be in want. America the home of an elite class that rules and oppresses the majority and keeps them stupid with its own propaganda. America - a name that is hated by a world that is more aware of its reality than its own citizens. America - NOT the home of the brave, but of the cowdarice who feel a gun is thier best choice. America - NOT the home of the free because they traded their freedoms for a false sense of governmental security. America - NOT your home, but just a temporary place of toleration if you are NOT male, white and Christian. I woke up in a strange land this morning. :(
