I woke up later in the morning, this morning, than I have in years. Jarrod, Becky and Kennedy took Debbie and I to a Texas Rangers game and we did not get home until 1 AM this morning. We had a blast. I was watching the fans at the game. Everyone was having so much fun. They played music between innings and people were getting up dancing and laughing. I did not shake a leg but I laughed, enjoyed the music and the show especially when our 2 year old granddaughter, Kennedy, would join them. She would clap her hands, the raise them above her head then laugh. The Rangers won and everyone cheered as they scored 9 runs at various times in the ballgame. 39,000 + people went home after having 3+ hours of fun. It was a good thing and nothing was wrong with it. There was Ranger runner that just barely made it home. The crowd roared and got so excited. I started thinking, oh how I wish people would get so excited about the things of God. In Idabel OK on Sunday mornings there are more folks at Wal-Mart and the Choctaw casino that there are at church. A big ball game or a well known singing star comes to the area and thousands of people come. Jesus comes to the area and no one shows -- oh how sad. You may say give us some excitement and we will come. I say - what is more exciting than living in Heaven for ever and ever? What is more exciting than walking down that street of gold? What is more exciting than God living in your heart and answering your prayers? I spent many years outside of church doing what I was big enough to do. I hated church. I knelt at that old wooden altar at the Hatfield, AR Free Will Baptist Church. I got my sins forgiven. It did not make me perfect just forgiven. After my sins were forgiven I had a new attitude about church. I can not wait to go to church Sunday. I am excited. There is something wrong if you are not excited too. You need to get that fixed.
