I wonder how long it took to realize deaf and blind people werent making up excuses for why they struggle functioning in civilized society. Granted, in a world of the wilderness without law and order, Nature wouldve killed me a long time ago, but I see the bullshit service given to teenagers going through psychological trauma of their parents divorce and think to myself, where was my support group when I was struggling?. I wonder what my life would be like now career-wise and financially had I gotten the special attention I needed to help get through school before I got in trouble with the legal system at 15 and had already given up on myself as a student and a scholar? Whos to be held responsible? Me for not finding a suitable coping method? Or my teachers and parent for not noticing my condition sooner, especially when I had made multiple requests to see a doctor to no avail because lol ADD isnt a thing. A lot of my more masculine mundane influences say man up, and stop feeling sorry for yourself, yet here I am, clearly suffering from a frontal lobe brain condition, and just because a nigga cant afford a million dollar brain scan to prove it, Im doomed to just deal with it. Started smoking weed at 15 because moms wouldnt even take me to see a therapist and I was forced to take matters into my own hands, have since made the condition worse due to the long term effects of depending on its stimulant affects to help me in school, work, etc. A lot of the men I know suffer from the same condition which leads to their violent nature and addictions that get them stuck in the streets, but fall victim to the masculine egos manning up, and as a result of never getting help, wind up locked up or in the dirt. If I were president, Id invest money into Neuroscience and making a brain scan MANDATORY for all Juvenile repeat offenders, especially those from low income families that cannot afford to send their troubled kid to a therapist like mine. #rant #neurology #livelifeinmyshoes #nonfataldoesntmeannonexistant
