I wonder if you can give me some advice on this. Ive had a lot of problems with my pony since I got her nearly 2 years ago. Im sure she was badly treated, has had at least 4 owners before I got her at 6 years, and was in badly fitted saddles. She would put a spin in in canter to get both myself and my daughter off while in the school. Anyway, I have spent a lot of time with her starting from scratch to build a bond and trust. She lets me get on her fine without moving with little or no objection. Today I was letting a few small children have a little ride round the school bare back and just walking slowly being led. She objected when putting them on and tried biting me walking round. With each one on she got worse and worse and on the forth child swished her tail, moved her bum over and arched her back up before the child just sat on. I was determined not to let her win and the child got on and Ginger was ok then. She really is a very placid pony but does have attitude and will let you know about it. What can I do to get her to stop doing this or should I just not be letting the children on? She does try to dominate whenever she can get away with it. I would just be nice to be able to let the children on sometimes and I dont want her getting her own way. Sorry long one, any ideas : - ))
