I wonder what Marcus Garvey would say to this generation that puts more effort into claiming RBG then Afrika. RBG has no language , no dishes. No indigenous land . It is more of an attitude , or I could compare it to the symbolism behind routing for your favorite team and wearing the paraphernalia getting excited about the team which would be PanAfrikan. This of course is only my humble reality and Im completely okay with that. I believe the powerful flag of ours was created to unify us as a people no matter where we are, no matter what we call our selfs, as Afrikans.I would love to see the same energy towards creating or claiming a new set of standards and traditions that include our Pan Afrikan background while living any where in the world. our own Holidays, the vast amount of foods , clothes and languages. Communal needs. Not just talking about how much we like Afrika or the books weve read or the vegan diet we have but living a life that speaks for its self and is based off of action. Please dont read this and hear what you like to make yourself feel good because your defensive about growth. Dont read these words and assume I dont enjoy wearing and or displaying my admiration for my home team RBG, Afrika. Its to induce a thought to expand your positive development for something tangible we can have with our children not JUST leave in hopes of blossoming into fruition after dirt is thrown on us.
