I wonder why this year has been so bad. Sunny the handicapped - TopicsExpress

I wonder why this year has been so bad. Sunny the handicapped puppy, left to die alone, and cold. We took her in, loved her and gave her a few months of love and attention, the puppy that stole our hearts. Keller the little chihuahua left on impound, her eye popping out of her head, now living in her new forever home. Bug found wandering in the trailer court, within a week of dying, weighing only 30 lbs, sad, week...now 3 months later, 60 lbs of wiggly love bug, adopted and off to start her new life. General, dumped on the side of the road, alone and cold but still devoted. Waiting every day, for 3 weeks, though some of the coldest weather that we have seen in years. He should have died....the kindness of neighbor who fed him even though he refused to be caught. Living in a small hole, within eye site of where he was dumped, watching every day...then finally picking his person...someone he could trust more, he picked his new family, now warm and loved and forever a part of SAFE. Leroy, living his life on a chain, out behind a house. Not fed routinely, no water, also dug himself a small hole. His only relief from the wind if it helped at all. 2 yrs old and never had a decent meal. Now gaining weight, currently snoring on the couch, eventually he to will be healthy enough for a new home, one where he will live like royalty. Now, Shackleton.....No one knows how this sweet cat got into this kind of shape. She is spayed, she was someones pet, she is loving, not wild. How did she loose her leg, chopped off 1/2 way up? How did she survive with the cold, she has frozen off her tail and her ears, the pain, had to be excruciating?? Why was she outside? Why is she so skinny?? She will recover, we will love her until she gets healthy and finds her forever home. These are just a few of the examples of some of our true rescues.... Ones that need us, that no one else is going to help, love, mend. These are the ones that should not be where they were.... The ones who suffer alone, the ones whos families were to self centered or irresponsible to do what was right. The ones who many of us would like to find in a dark alley. We were put on this earth to tend to Gods creatures, to love them and nurture them. That is our job, is it really that hard????
