I worked for a newspaper for 18 years, i know how tough it is to write about/criticize subjects that overlap with your own practice. Im not a hater, Im definitely not an anti-intellectual, but i love well-meaning courage and truth. In a cultural climate of bullshit, exploitive tabloid journalism (huff post on the nothing performance, the guardian on the egg lady, and others on the much ado about nothing at goldsmiths), not to mention the tacky nightmare of celebrity collaborations and co-option; leaving all the work for certain academics who get it at least half wrong and write within a bubble to the small percentage people who use the same pedantic language: my brother/sister/colleague Franko Black throws down in his own words.
