I would be the first to support the farmer, I have spent my whole life in and around farming, without the farmer there would be no food and without food there would be nothing. More farmers were killed in Britain providing food for us last year than soldiers killed in Iraq. They work long hours in all weather and seldom get the recognition they deserve. People need to be patient at this time of year, they are not running big machines up and down the lanes for fun...they are doing it so that we can eat! However.....I do struggle to justify defending you (and you know who you are!) when you consistently refuse to slow down when going past the pub when there are people and cars to negotiate, particularly when you are on the bloody phone! When you do kill someone it may be one less for you to feed but it will also be one of my customers....some of whom I am quite fond of!
