I would just like to add my heartfelt thanks to the Brechin brothers and Brian Downie, not only for setting the site up but also for organising the reunion. Well done ! To say it was a howling success would be to put it mildly...!! The years rolled away and suddenly we were back trawling again, dodging gales o wind, mending blootered trawls, clearing decks o fish and off course many nights in and drunken escapades galore were relived...!!! Lol I think most of us found it a bit emotional as we remembered so many shipmates who will trawl no more....RIP They may be gone, sadly, but their memories are still very much alive and long may it continue. Trawling as we knew it is now part of a bygone era. The upside is that with the emergence of sites like this and reality shows the British public are now more aware of the true price off the humble haddock and not before time ! I always have and always will be both proud and honoured to have been part of a once proud industry. Finally i should like to thank all my old (wir aw auld i keen ! ) shipmates for there support and friendship during my time sailing out of aberdeen an elsewhere, memories i will always cherish.... Jist mind noo boys Wir aw Jock Thompsons bairns, whas lik wis ? dir far an few atween...!! Lol
