I would like to add to the abundance of kind words posted about Palmetto. I had the opportunity to attend magnet schools that I was accepted to but I chose Palmetto because of the amount of opportunities it has to offer. I must say, my choice was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I am receiving such a high level of education and can gladly say I go home learning something new that I can apply to my life everyday. Whether in electives, core classes or at the advanced placement level, I am taught by great teachers with passion and drive for sharing their knowledge to the students. Not only that but the administration has an open door policy and remains approachable as well. So would you say that posting an article showing pictures of a cockroaches and water fountains should be in the public domain rather than the excellence demonstrated by Palmetto? We live in South Florida, everyone gets cockroaches in their home from time to time and sees some strange things, so build a bridge and get over it. There are four custodians to take care of 2,700 kids. The average American family size is 4 people. Do you think your family could clean up after that many teenagers? If you have an issue with the way some slobbish kids treat the school then go to the school board and get money for more custodians to be at Palmetto. If this was an article demonstrating an accurate presentation of Palmetto it would be a positive one. I can gladly vouch for many teens who are extremely proud to be a Palmetto Panther and have our love shown not only on our sleeves but in our hearts.
