I would like to announce my candidacy for the position of Treasurer of NARFE Florida, Inc. I was born in Houston, TX. My father was in the military service; therefore, we lived in Montgomery, AL, San Antonio, TX, and Guam. We moved to Tampa, Fl in 1958 when he was assigned to MacDill AFB. My federal service began in 1964 when I went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration. I transferred to the Social Security Administration in 1970. I retired in 2003 after thirty-nine and a half years of combined service. I joined Chapter 1224 Plant City, FL in 2008. I was the chapter Treasurer from 2008 through 2011 and have served as the President for 2012 and 2013. In May 2010, I was appointed the federation’s Alzheimer’s Treasurer and currently serve in that position. In 2011, I became the chairperson for this committee. My financial philosophy is conservative and I believe that I have the knowledge and skills to be an effective treasurer. I would like the opportunity to further serve NARFE as the Treasurer for NARFE Florida, Inc.
