I would like to apologize to my friends who felt judged by me when - TopicsExpress

I would like to apologize to my friends who felt judged by me when I spoke out against circumcision last week, going so far as to call that way of thinking ignorant. I did not mean that. I was reacting to a story on NPR in which a mother felt she had to do something that her gut was telling her was causing harm to her child, and that she felt she had no choice. That was what I felt was ignorant; I abhorr blind adherence to religion, (especially when a religion tells a womans intuition it is wrong), because of how it often deters critical thinking. To all my friends who have thought critically and deliberately about the consequences and potential harm vs benefits of circumscion, I respect your decision (not that you asked). To those who have not considered leaving their male child intact, here is a comical but succinct portrayal of the history of circuscion that makes points worth pondering: upworthy/the-absurd-reason-why-america-circumcises-baby-boys?c=ufb1
