I would like to ask for prayers this morning for Joshua. He has a court appearance in Elmore County on a speeding ticket. He is very upset over this because the ticket was wrongfully issued. He’s going to fight the charge. Joshua was traveling on Highway 14, second in a line of five cars. All of the cars were together, equal distance apart, and driving the speed limit. The Sherriff’s deputy came from the opposite direction, passed all five vehicles and made a U-turn, then came back and pulled Joshua over out of the line of five. He claimed Joshua was doing 73 in a 55. That didn’t happen. I have found an attorney who is willing to provide some assistance to Joshua but they need additional time. They’ve asked Joshua to ask for an extension. Basically they’re going to challenge the officer on the eeny meany, miny, moe method of speed enforcement. I believe that Joshua has not been treated fairly. I believe that he has a responsibility to call a wrongful action wrong, and to demand due process and fair treatment. The only way that we can stop unfair treatment is to oppose it, expose it, and demand accountability for it. I have no doubt in my mind that the traffic court will agree with the officer, and Joshua would have to appeal the decision of the municipal court to a district court. I have no doubt in my mind that the eventual expenses will exceed the actual cost of the ticket. Joshua has seen his sister treated unfairly because of her disabilities. He believes that if someone would treat him unfairly they would not hesitate to treat Faith unfairly. Joshua loves his sister and he’s going to fight unfair treatment, even when it’s not directed at Faith because one day it may be.
