I would like to blast all the news entities here in El Paso. Instead of capitalizing on the pain and suffering, and even death of El Pasoans, the news entities SHOULD have been telling people how to salvage their homes after flood waters entered. And since they didnt, Ill tell you. You need to clear away all floor coverings back to the concrete pad. You need to clear away all walls 6 inches above the water mark back to the wall studs. This will allow the framing of the house to dry with a better chance of preventing mold. All furniture with cloth that has gotten wet should be thrown away. The news also did a half-assed job telling you how to determine if a car was water damaged. El Pasoans should be demanding more from their news stations. El Pasoans need to take care of each other. I was in Nashville during the floods of 2010, and the news stations there were telling people as the floods were happening in preparation. There, in some places, water was 14 over...
