I would like to bring up the idea of conversion and tactics used - TopicsExpress

I would like to bring up the idea of conversion and tactics used and of course to understand everyones view on them. I believe that the most sacred followers of any religion are those that have discovered it not through so eons else directly but through experiences and I believe this is how everyone should arrive at is their religion. Things like conversion in the sense of either going to peoples homes or leading parades corrupts the personal needs of a pure bond with religion. Some of the largest and most successful religious groups have used intimidating tactics Ive noticed in comparison to more (in my opinion drawn from history and experience) humble religion such as those from the east like Buddhism. The idea of going to doors (usually in couples) is intimidating of outnumbering the one (as usually only one answers the door) who answered and so also to in a way invade that which is said to be personal area. Parades are of course intimidating just from sheer numbers as well the usual amounts of banners and sometimes criticism. On another level Id like to compare the Catholic Churches (built in the times where Europe was dominated by Christianity) and Buddhist temples I visited in Japan. The Buddhist temples (or at least the ones I experienced) were made out of mostly (to the eye) natural materials such as wood (which was always tended to and structurally changed as the wood rotted) and straw for the roofs as well or course rugs (made the monks situated there) and metal for support. This is a very humble environment I found and comforting as everything was my size. I could touch the roof and smell nature around me. This in contrast to churches built I find rather intimidatingly. Made as large as possible out of stone, chipped by workers there and when any stone was damaged it was repaired to as close it could have been before damage so as to stay the same. To me I see this as a simple of lack of adaption to modern life and new discoveries and so tis is where I have my problems with such religions like Christianity or Judaism and such western religions. I have nothing against the people, I love you but I would just like maybe other views on this. Thank you for reading and namaste :)
