I would like to clarify more about who I am, what my educational - TopicsExpress

I would like to clarify more about who I am, what my educational background is, and why I believe so strongly in hypnotherapy. So, here I go. I fell very naturally and quickly into hypnotherapy as a healing modality. I had looked into it some years before, having read Michael Newton’s books becoming instantly intrigued by what he was proposing. It made sense to me. It may have been one of the first times that my beliefs about who we are, where we come from and thus return to, etc. was eloquently presented with the research to back it. I wanted to learn how to do what Michael Newton was doing. I wanted to take people back to situations in their lives, to other lives, and to the spirit world so that connection could be reestablished to foster healing and purpose. Earth is a hard place to be- it is dense and full of challenge. My question was, “What can I do to ease this discomfort? What can I offer that will quickly allow for transformation (clients being given the space to adequately metabolize past traumas and hurts so that they can be realized and let go of).” I had been trained as a formal psychotherapist, receiving my Masters degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University, Boulder, Co in 2010. This has served as a wonderful and necessary foundation. I learned so much about myself. I was asked at every turn to look at my own pain so that I could understand it enough not to displace it onto my clients. It was hard and there were times I did not think I would make it through, but I did and I am thankful and grateful to myself for having done so. However, I did not want a “talk therapy” practice. I did not want my clients to feel dependent upon me. That is why hypnotherapy is such a wonderful tool. This is fast track work. When a person is lead through a series of easy relaxation visualizations into a trance state, that person is open and willing to work through past traumas, pains, limiting beliefs, etc. that they would have been otherwise too guarded to get to. Simply, the conscious mind takes the backseat for the duration of the session. And it must be said that at NO time is the client unaware of what he/she is doing or saying, thinking or feeling. The filter is still there, discretion is still there, but the hyper vigilance most of us experience (i.e. self-protection that can only serve its purpose for so long before it becomes harmful and growth thwarting) is no longer controlling the situation. When the psyche is given this opportunity, so much change can take place very quickly. This ties back into why I was disheartened by a strictly “talk therapy” approach. When a client comes into speak with a therapist, personal defenses are intact, all the layers of personality that have been constructed stand in the way for transformation to occur. It can be a long process to cut through to the core issues (months, years,). Hypnotherapy offers a door straight to the heart of the matter. It is also in this state, that a person is able to release physical pain. It’s the same idea of what I have already referred to above. Given the opportunity to go deep and heal, the body wants this, it just may have gotten off of track as to how. I am loving facilitating these sessions. I am blown away every time by the strength and beautiful, innate wisdom that is demonstrated by my clients. It has been humbling and healing for me to witness. Thank you to all who have taken this journey with me so far and for those of you wanting to, I am here and can’t wait to see what is next! Love and all the best, Autumn Please get ahold of me anytime - I love to talk about this topic. Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you!
