I would like to clarify we are not here for the March Against climate change! I am very upset with CBC for using our faces disregarding the fact that we Inuit youth are here for the WORLD Conference of Indigenous Peoples. I support the fight against climate change but what we are fighting for us much bigger then that. I am angry that CBC is using our faces associated with the climate change March and I did not even participate in the March. I am here lobby for the rights of Indigenous peoples of the world, lobbying for the rights of Indigenous peoples. The outcome document that was adopted has been worked on and lobbied for by many indigenous peoples around the world! I dont want that to be disregarded and overshadowed by the Climate Change March and the many celebrities. The World Conference for Indigenous peoples needs to be recognized. I hope that at least the people in reach of my Facebook understand what we are here for. Climate change is a huge issue that is impacting all indigenous peoples and our lands, but in order to be able to have impact on the change that needs to be taken, we must first have the rights to participate in the decision making process. We had passionate young people that came together as a side event to participate in the March and I am proud of the fact that the side event was available for them to attend. I feel like I can write a book about this! But I do not appreciate CBC and who ever else that is using our photos to share falsified or stories.
