I would like to extend my special thanks to everyone in the armed forces for spending sleepless nights so that we could sleep in peace and also for their support in the electoral process. I offer and sincere prayers and my thanks to the clergy and everyone else in the religious community for their prayers because of which we had a smooth election. The past months on the campaign trail have been a humbling experience for all of us and we take the learning with us as we prepare to form a people’s government. On behalf of the PDP, I offer my appreciation to the former Prime Minister Jigmi Y Thinley and all DPT candidates for participating in this historic process and making our democratic journey meaningful. We shall work together in parliament for the benefit of the people of Bhutan. I request your support and guidance. I thank the other political parties, DNT, DCT and BKP for playing their part in making our’s a vibrant democracy. I appreciate the Election Commission of Bhutan for successfully conducting the elections. My special thanks to all officials, who ensured that the process was fair. For those who are returning from your villages to your places of work after elections, I wish you a safe journey. We shall work together as Team Bhutan and ensure peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
