I would like to invite all my friends (and their friends) to join me this Sunday morning the 14th of September for a Walk in the Park to benefit Josies Cause. It is being held at Dunlap Creek Park (New Salem Dam for us old timers), rain or shine. This walking fundraiser is being sponsored by Mike Wood Toyota, United Dairy, Little Caesars Pizza and others to help out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by Medicare for Josephine Chomiak of Republic. Josie suffers from a rare--and so far, uncurable--disease called Bullous Pemphigoid Autoimmune Condition. It causes severe and massive blistering of the skin. When the blisters break, the underlying skin is like that of a 3rd degree burn and takes months to heal. She is confined to a wheelchair due to complications after surgical procedures on her leg which had massive blisters. If you can make it, please do.
