I would like to let all of you in on a public service announcement, of sorts. I am soon planning on launching an online store devoted to handmade, custom, raw stone/bead jewelry (as well as mineral specimens, earrings, and more). The jewelry I will make is not just aesthetic, but taken a step further; my pieces will reflect geology found together in nature (mineral associations). As an example, as well as giving a sneak peek, one of my customizable necklaces is called “The North Shore” (pictured), which has a central thomsonite nugget, accessory LSAs, and round beads of green prehnite and basalt. The piece not only looks artistic with color and texture coming together, but reflects elements actually found together thanks to Mother Nature. I also have many more ideas of pieces reflecting certain themes/minerals of the Great Lakes area (and many other areas as well)! All of my “namesake” pieces will be customizable on the basis of length (for necklaces), metal (gold, silver or platinum plated as well as copper, brass, gunmetal, leather, or hemp), and a couple other options to be revealed. Thus, I will tailor-make any piece based on personal taste and a variety of budgets. I hope to launch by late February/early March (barring any complications). Please let me know what you think.
