I would like to personally say a big thank you to all the artists - TopicsExpress

I would like to personally say a big thank you to all the artists who participated in NAMM Metal Jam 2014 as well as co-organizer Dave Reffett who the event would not have been possible without. Desiree Porter, Dan Gonzalez and Norman Cox, Madison Amps who sponsored and backlined the event and to the lovely Metal Sanaz who was the Host MC for the event, when our planned host couldn’t fly from New Zealand. NAMM Metal Jam 2014 was a great success with the amazing performances and attendance that exceeded the year before and even the next nights show according to artists that attended both nights. With 50 artists on the show it was our goal and commitment to provide everyone what they need and with a great experience. Unfortunately 4 artists who were at the event were unhappy with their scheduled song times. The NAMM Metal Jam team did not receive communication from the drummer who just left mad with out saying anything to give us the opportunity to resolve the matter. The two singers and guitarist left together as a carpool after one said they needed to catch a flight. This could’ve been worked out in advance if it had been communicated before the show. We understand that everyone wants to go on at prime time and we tried our best to spread the love. DeathRiders went on last for the night and had a song cut in the middle of the set. The Whisky had originally specified the show would start at 10:00pm and then added a 4th band in front of NAMM Metal Jam 2014 a day before the show. Then we were told that the show would be pushed to 10:30pm. We compromised to 10:15pm. Michael Angelo Batio and DeathRiders both cut songs down to 2 in order to accommodate all the artists to ensure they would all have the opportunity to perform. We can’t force folks to communicate or to stop them from leaving. If we knew about these concerns in advance then we could have at least had the opportunity to address and resolve them. A couple of artists did bring this concern up upfront which we accommodated right at the onset. We are truly sorry for this happening to the artists that did not get to perform and for the fans who came to see those artists. I wanted to see them perform as well. The Whisky told us we could run until at least 1:50am. Then our show was cut early at 1:30pm. The show started at 10:30pm. We couldn’t do anything about this and had no control over this. Despite these challenges NAMM Metal Jam 2014 was still a huge success with amazing performances and a great time had by the artists and fans as well as media. NAMM Metal Jam was set-up as a jam for fun by Neil Turbin with Michael Angelo Batio to include other artists. Just to set the record straight the band fee that I received was less than what it cost to pay for the video that the company who filmed it at the Whisky charged. The rest was paid out of pocket. We did this out of the love of having all the great artists perform. Thank you and see you next year \m/>
