The above quote made by Thabo Mbeki following his recalling by the AFrican National Congress becomes so germane to my circumstances today, our circumstances may be as the BCP family. Those who are triumphalist we shall give them space. Those who abuse us should be given space and indeed those abusing cde Saleshando and his family we should allow them space. We do have convictions and principles that guide us as a movement. It is these convictions that we summarized in our manifesto and went out into the market to market. If our people made a conscious decision to reject our stated principles so let it be it because that is what democracy is about. If and if our people made a conscious choice to chooce others over others let it be. That does not mean our principles are wrong. We may be right but good things are nt instantly embraced for they need some sacrifice. We will soon look and reflect on the results . I can assure everyone that having done so we will chart the way forward. This wayfoward will be made having regard to the broad and sustainable interests of Batwana. We will nt allow ourselves to be coerced into some rigmarole unity which we will nt predict its sustainability. this decision when made is nt whether the person of Dumelang or any in the leadership of our movement is in parliament or not. It will be made in the interest of Botswana of tomorrow. There are a section of Batswana who agrees with us. we may have to give them an opportunity to enjoy their democracy through our institution. Yes it may nt be easy but we cannot allow ourselves to de despondent. Weather is never permanently in one mode. My congratulations for those who won. Comrade Dums you can hold your head high. You made a significant and substantial contribution. You will continue to make it for the sake of our country. And not for your sake. I know you. This country deserves your astute leadership. If it does nt come to pass someone else will have lost and certainly not your person. You are the best. To go back to Mbeki today he is smiling as you will smile some day. My word
