I would like to share an observation from my trip. When I got to Connecticut, there was a billboard with a picture of 2 state troopers. The text read They protect and serve. Show them respect.. Well, after I made a hand gesture at the image and some unrepeatable comments, I finally realized what the sign meant. On the highway in the 55 mph zone only, there was no less than 30 state cops protecting their jobs by serving speeding tickets. I think the actual number was closer to 50. They were even bunched up 4 to a group a few times. It was interesting that when the speed limit turned back to 65 mph, I didnt see a single cop. Protect and serve? Show respect? I dont think so.
