I would like to share something, without using names. I had the opportunity to speak with a couple that lost their home in the fire. When I explained how and why the Oakhurst Area Fire Relief Fund was setup, the woman broke down in tears and thanked me and all who have contributed to it. She looked down at the clothes she was wearing and said this, I am thankful for these clothes. Someone that I never met donated them. I am so grateful to have them and I dont even know who to thank for giving them to me. However, I just lost everything and now Im wearing someone elses clothing. Thank you for setting up the fund. It will be so nice to buy my own clothes... Clothing that I pick out... My style... My exact size. It was an emotional moment that brought me to tears. I share this not to discourage people from donating items because I know that so many people want to contribute and cash is not an option for everyone. Many things like appliances, furniture and household items are needed and donations of these items are very helpful. I share this because it made me realize how important it is to help these people get their life back and we need to focus on helping them in the best way we possibly can. Please, please, please... Even if its $5, $10, or $20... Please contribute to the fund setup at Yosemite Bank. This is the BEST way to help our neighbors that lost their entire home, clothing, furniture, electronics, food, kitchen supplies, cosmetics, camping supplies, vehicles, gardens... I can go on.
