I would like to share this with all of you. To those who stand with me and everyone else in the fight against racial discrimination and bigoted cultural appropriation, and for those who ignorantly believe that racism doesnt exist anymore, I would like you to witness this post. A friend of mine at the University of Chicago has continuously faced discrimination on campus for articulating his rightful opinions and beliefs of the horrific oppression he has faced as a PoC at a top tier institution; A school that was once a dream come true in his days prior to becoming a student at said institution, has now become a living nightmare, endlessly whipping blow after blow at this incredible human being. The post you see here was posted supposedly under his name, but he was hacked by UEA (UChicago Electronic Army), who is an absurd, irrational group attempting to instill white supremacy in a land that has flourished because of the hard working bones of those who would be considered the minority. What does this revolting status tell us about our society today? That there is still a war to be fought against those who try to constrain the beauty and intelligence of PoCs. Please stand with me to send across two messages. 1. Derek Caquelin, my man, we are with you 100%. Well stand by you through your darkest hours, and well wait until you reach your brightest achievements. Si se puedes, y yo se que la communidad de los gentes de color es orgulloso de ti! 2. To the UEA, you may think you are winning because you were born with white privilege, and youve never had to face institutionalized racism, but let me tell you, this little game youre playing at UChicago, trust me, it extends farther than just school grounds. You are bringing an issue that is NOT taken lightly by PoCs across the country, hell, across the globe. You want to act all tough behind a computer screen, trying to instill fear to those who you find inferior, well guess what, keep underestimating us. This is NOT the 1950s. We will NOT back down when it comes to defending who we are, and what we are capable of. We grow in numbers, regardless if the people who support us are black or white, because common sense tells the world that PoCs are people, but WE tell the world that we are people who matter!
