I would like to state that on Simon Killanes webpage and on Kim Powers page – our deputy Mayor- over the past week, statements have been put up stating that complaints made by towns people including myself are liars, this I can state is not the truth and I would not want anyone to be under the impression that Simon Killane and Kim Power are telling the truth, the complaints are not easy to make and are a long drawn out affair, no one would want to waste their time doing this unless they felt very strongly about a situation that had happened, I have stated all along that my complaints were part of a long build up and not just instances of events at the time. The way the code of conduct is written it is almost impossible to complain about a Councilor and this needs to change. We are elected by the people and should not have to put up with certain behavior without being able to have that Councilor reprimanded in a way to make right their mistakes or behavior. The Code of Conduct doesnt seem to even cover bullying or being disrespectful. I have spoken to a Wiltshire Council director last week and told them that in Malmesbury we have been abandoned, we have a Councilor who is not approachable to many and if you do not agree with him then you can be subject to abuse hurled at you. He is allowed to carry on like this and nothing can be done about it. I had hoped he would realize after several complaints that he would take stock and rethink, and amend his behavior, but no. He has now changed track and is saying that people do not like him because of decisions he has had to make as a Councilor this is rubbish as we all know., he upset these people by his behavior and shouting at people in the street and in Council meetings. I am sorry if you feel that it is Councilors squabbling in public, I can assure you I would like this ended and be allowed to get on with my life and council work, also my voluntary work , in which both Councilors have followed me and try putting obstacles in my way. Let me have my life back and stop this bullying, I just want a quiet life and do what I was elected for, not have to keep reading this drivel from them. Yes I could ignore it and mostly I do, but he is calling fellow town people liars and they don’t deserve that. I have taken legal advice and unless this all stops from those two I will act upon it.
