I would like to take a second to address GMO labelling. Its one of the most common arguments thrown out by those who think GMOs are dangerous, and its usually thrown out when they have nothing else to say - well if theyre so safe, why not label them??? Dont I have a right to know whats going in my body??? Heres why: a label of GMO means NOTHING. Genetic modification is a tool. Thats it. Like all tools, it can be used in many ways. You could genetically modify an apple to be deadly if you felt like it, or you could modify rice to contain vitamin A. A label of GMO doesnt tell you what was modified or how it was modified - a GMO label might as well just say theres some science in this food. If you dont know enough to know that a GMO label is essentially meaningless, then you dont know enough about transgenics to make an informed decision.
