I would like to take this moment in time to Thank everybody who - TopicsExpress

I would like to take this moment in time to Thank everybody who have wished their prayers and condolences for my Grandfather who had just passed away today (5:00am, Philippine time) about 4 hours ago. To all who I have called, been called by, and messaged to and from, and relatives and friends and the Jesuit Priests, La Salle brothers, offering me fare to come home and your prayers for him and the family; Atlanta, GA., Florida, Michigan, California, Pennsylvania, Chicago, St. Louis USA, and Cebu city, Manila, Philippines, there are truly too many to mention but we are so blessed to have all of you, I thank you very much. To all who knew my grandfather, we all knew he was first and foremost a very kind and responsible father to his children and practiced the very essence of family values even to my generation, as his grandchildren. He was a talented surgeon. A very simple and non-luxurious kind of man, he always took the time to help people out even though if it were already out of his scope and responsibility to. He is the type of man, when you attempt to jump off a bridge, he wouldnt be at the bottom to catch you, but rather he would be the one on top of the bridge to stop you from even trying to jump. Thank you to all who were with him during his last hours, even though it came from nowhere. To the physicians, nurses, caretakers and relatives especially his children and grandchildren, who visited him constantly until visiting hours were over, I truly thank you for being with him. Even though I am thousands of miles away and seas apart, I most certainly feel a great part of my life has been taken away from me just as everyone who has known, been and lived with him are experiencing now. He passed away very gently and peacefully and for sure with a full heart. Let us all remember to appreciate every small thing in life, for nobody and nothing is permanent in this life. We are all just passing through. There are thousands of ways to live life, but you only get to choose one way of living it. Live it wisely he always embarked among his descendants and beloved ones. He is truly an embodiment of the saying that, A mans life is not measured by the number of years he has lived, but rather the number of lives he touches around him he will always leave a light lit so bright in this world, and will never be put out, for his children and grandchildren to live with. I will not say his name was, but rather, is Sancho Yomo Medina, lived through 1930-2014 (84 years of life) A Father, A Grandfather, A Husband, An Uncle, A Brother, A Cousin and A Child of God. We all know that you are in a better, peaceful, celestial and the most holy of places now with our loving Father, The Almighty One Above. May you rest in peace Papa. I love you. Your Grandson and will never fade, Marvin Thomas R. Medina
