I would like to take this moment to give a million huge, enormous, monumental thank yous to Joe Filippazzo for making one of my dreams come true on April 12, 2014. He met my country music idol, Emmylou Harris, whom I love, admire, and respect beyond words, after her concert in New York. He presented the artwork I made for her and told her all about me, including that my favorite song of hers is Red Dirt Girl. She was incredibly impressed with and appreciative of my art, especially the one I made of her, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt (right off the heels of Emmys Rock n Roll Hall of Fame tribute to Linda.) Her face and eyes lit up the moment she saw my art. When she inquired about my whereabouts, Joe told her I wasnt there, but rather back home in Texas. It is my understanding that Emmylou wanted to meet me. I hope that happens one day. Id cry tears of joy, just like I did last night when I first saw this picture. I wasnt there in person, but I feel like I was there in spirit. I feel so blessed knowing that another one of my idols knows who I am, has something of mine, and would love to meet me face to face. Not only that, but she sent her best wishes to me at Miss Texas. I cant believe I have the approval and support of the one and only Emmylou Harris. I am humbled and all the more motivated to succeed in the competition, and in my singing career. Thank you again, Joe, for doing this for me. Ill be eternally grateful. You rock!!!
