I would like to thank all that came out to 2nd street for our boogie on the block last night. It Was beautiful weather and we had 2 great bands. I would like to thank Pat Martel for helping out with paying the bands ; Marshall Terry Darbonne and Charlie Chan for taking time out of their already busy schedule to help set up the tent ; Mayor Moody, Chief Dies, and Dept Chief Varden Guillory Sr for allowing us to block off the street ; and also Eunice fireman Chaise Brown for volunteering to sale beer to help me cut costs! With that being said there is a lot more that goes into events like these than just throwing a band out there. When you cant charge a cover someone has to foot the bill, and without donations its very difficult and A HUGE RISK on businesses as small as The Dugout and Ds tavern. Anyways The Dugout gave away what would of been a normal profitable night to help the Chamber of Commerce promote the cook off for the City of Eunice , I just hope this doesnt go unseen or not remembered! Thanks have a great day and enjoy the 29th annual Crawfish étouffée cook off!
