I would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday! It was the best birthday I have had in years! I thought back to a time when I was a freshman in HS. My mom said something to me and I replied Ah, dont worry mom... I wont live to see 30 anyways! Well, needless to say... she got FURIOUS at me and I never said it to her again! In all honesty, it is a miracle that I wasnt right! I am so grateful to be here today! A Higher Power has definitely looked over me! I have finally been sober for... 677 days... I feel better than I have in years! One of my closest friends commented to me that I look better at 46 than I did at 36... Not a mystery why! No surprise that I am better off without the substance abuse and I have gotten MUCH better at managing the storm within me... I have to give credit to modern medicine too... I go see my Dr Friday... I have finally learned to be more proactive these days! lol On my bad days, and yes I do have them... I simply remind myself: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. - Psalm 23... And that is all the strength I really need to overcome anything... AMEN!
