I would like to welcome James Comer and his running mate Chris McDaniel to the Republican race for Governor and Lt. Governor. I strongly believe that campaigns play an essential role in our democracy - they offer voters a chance to get to know the candidates and evaluate their different policy positions. For the next 9 months, we will continue to discuss our plan for creating good paying jobs and transforming Kentucky into an economic powerhouse. We believe that someone with experienced leadership from outside Frankfort is best suited to fix the structural problems with state government - not members of the Frankfort political establishment. We believe that someone who has spent their life working in the private sector to attract the best jobs to Kentucky is best suited to get Kentuckians back to work - not those who have spent their careers in elected office. We believe that someone who has built a business and balanced a budget is best suited to effectively get State Governments spending under control - not those who have voted time and time again for more spending. Campaigns are about ideas. We look forward to a spirited campaign, one where we will continue to share our positive vision for job creation and economic growth.
