I would love to see Larry Pressler do one last term in the US Senate. In fact, I wouldnt mind seeing him in the Oval office for that matter. Why do I like and respect him so much? INTEGRITY. Anybody remember ABSCAM, the FBI sting that netted and number of pro-Ted Kennedy Democrats and one conservative Republican. One guy who they did NOT get arrested and ruined was South Dakotas then Republican junior Senator Larry Pressler. When approached by a group of FBI investors, including a make-believe Arab sheikh, offering a substantial cash bribe in order to grease a multimillion dollar commercial construction project, Senator Pressler abruptly stood up and said Sorry, thats illegal and I cant be a part of this and walked out. This also was captured on film. Imagine that a US Senator refusing to be bought.
