I would think 16 million dollars would be enough to open a restaurant chain. I would also think that paying restitution to a man whos eye he poked out would be a nice thing to do. I believe that granting pardons in cases where people have greatly changed *CAN* be a positive symbol to felons that Corrections is indeed possible. I do NOT think this is one of those cases. I worked on his last major film, and have no problem saying this. If we dont all get a little more on top of things, and actually WORK HARD to create a better future, then the pitchforks are going to come out. And we are FAR too setup with tools nowadays to survive a cultural a social breakdown without a catastrophic loss of life and civil assets. This really breaks my heart to see. If it was only because he wanted to be a new poster child for reform and growth, I would much more be likely to have a neutral stance on it. It is simply because he wants to explode onto the scene with a restaurant chain, and his felony record for hate crimes including robbing and blinding a man to steal some beer, has gotten in his way. This is truly absurd. The judge that offered the pardon should also be closely scrutinized. REALLY BAD TIMING, really bad in general.
